Frogs
In the frog, the skin structure comprises of the epidermis and the dermis. The outermost part of the epidermis (stratum corneum) consists of 4-5 layers of epithelial cells, while the innermost part (stratum malpighii) is located on the basal membrane.

The dermis is a thick, connective tissue, containing muscle and nerve fibers, blood vessels, capillaries, pigment cells, and cutaneous glands. Two layers of the dermis can be distinguished: stratum spongiosum and stratum compactum.
